Going Great!, June 7, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ASUS G55VW-DS71 15.6-Inch Gaming Notebook (Black) (Personal Computers) This is simply my first impression of this notebook, i will update later to make sure no problems have arised. This beast has everything you need to take on everyday work, photoshop, gaming, AutoCAD, and it does it flawlessly. The matte black ruberized material used throughout the notebook feels nice and gives you some extra grip and is cool to the touch. The dual fan system keeps everything cool even when you're gaming with it on your lap! My previous laptop practically gave me 3rd degree burns when i used it on my lap. The backlit keyboard is very nice and looks beautiful in a dark room. The notebook does come with a software that limits CPU/GPU clock speeds for when you're simply browsing the internet or using word, which you can switch back to gaming mode for 100% power! I have had no problems with this product and highly recommend it.

No boot disc or other recovery software was provided, so I cannot fix the situation on my own.
I have contacted ASUS tech support, and they will theoretically get in touch with me some time in the next 48 hours.

My HP laptop died while under warranty but since i took it out side the US, HP wouldn't fix it. I did looked around for a replacement and I love ASUS Laptops because they are always so durable. I bought this laptop because it was listed as having the hybrid HDD/SSD. Since Amazon wouldn't ship to my APO, i had it shipped to my mom's house and she had to ship it too me. I have over $120 in shipping this thing to myself as it comes in the most large, unnecessary box ever. Don't be fooled by Amazon, this model DOES NOT have the hybrid drive, and that was the reason I bought it from here. If ASUS would of listed their models on their website then I could have looked it up there but they only state all the possible parts for every configuration. I'm very disappointed that I was lead to believe i was getting something I didn't.
